Coldframe is a telemetry system that began with a box in my garden. I put sensors on it, and that box became the project's namesake. From the start, the intent was twofold: to monitor and eventually automate a seedling nursery, and to explore IoT development. This site is as much a living system design document as it is a gardening aid.
Since then, the project has grown into a full data pipeline with dedicated hardware, APIs, and a real-time dashboard. Getting the hardware to live outdoors meant moving from breadboard prototypes to soldered, weatherproofed enclosures with solar radiation shields.
From here, future iterations will include mechanical garden automation, microclimate analytics, alerting, and expanded sensor coverage driven by what the garden requires next.
